Datum Electronics is located on the Isle of Wight, the home of the foil strain gauge developed by Saunders Roe who secured early patents for the foil gauges (later sold to Vishay Measurements) and the home of Robert Hooke who worked on the Law’s of Elasticity. He created “Hookes Law” upon which all strain sensors are based. Datum Electronics develops, produces and sells innovative torque & shaft power measurement solutions such as; shaft torque sensors, torque transducers, torque meters, marine shaft power meters, bolt-on strain gauge sensors, amplifiers, power take off (PTO) shaft sensors and wind turbine monitoring systems.
